Scrappy the Robot at Boston Science Museum

My family went to the Boston Science Museum today and brought me home a surprise. This is a video of a model I made a few years back when I first started making figures. I sold the model to Daz3D. I called him Scrappy the Robot. In this video Scrappy is animated and interactive. The screen makes Scrappy full size. They gave him a woman's voice making him into her. I got a kick out of this. According to my wife the kids in the museum where having a lot of fun interacting with Scrappy. My kids where blown away by this. This makes my day! What a great surprise!

Here is another video from the news explaining the project.
A quick news story about Tinker (Scrappy the Robot) . The Relational Agents are computer agents designed to form long-term, social-emotional relationships with their users. We are investigating the use of these agents in task domains in which human-agent relationships actually improve task outcomes, such as in coaching, counseling, psychotherapy and healthcare.
Here is a link to the Relational Agents Group explaining the project in more detail.
The second robot in the background on this page is my Toon-Bot Chip figure I made.

This is all very cool and interesting. I'm glad to see they used my robots. I sold the rights to both robots years ago but, it is still fun to see them getting around.
One of these days I should make a kids book with all the robots I have made. Kids really seem to enjoy them.
Thanks for Looking!
