It is Autism Awareness Month. My wife Sarah and I are going to run a 5k this month in support of Autism. Any help you can give to support families dealing with autism is appreciated.
According to AutismSpeaks.org:
•Autism now affects 1 in 88 children and 1 in 54 boys
•Autism prevalence figures are growing
•Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the U.S.
•Autism costs a family $60,000 a year on average
•Autism receives less than 5% of the research funding of many less prevalent childhood diseases
•Boys are nearly five times more likely than girls to have autism
•There is no medical detection or cure for autism
Your support allows organizations such as the Autism Resource Center of Central Massachusetts to offer programs and supports to over 2,600 families with children affected with autism spectrum disorders in the Central Massachusetts community.
Please chip in and support this great cause. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Thanks you all for the support!
