Four years ago I started a female figure I call Michelle. She has been an on and off again project for me for a while now. Back in October I started work on her again. I promised myself that I would finish her. The past five months I have been working night and day getting this figure ready for release into the Poser community. I wanted to craft a female with my own hand, that looked the way I want a figure to look. I did not want her to be super realistic. I wanted people to look at her and realize she was created by a guy that is a comic book geek. I guy who likes Final Fantasy VII Advent children, and Star Wars, not for the realism but, more for the "wow that is cool" factor. That's what I want Michelle to be. I just want her to look cool. I'm pretty happy with what I have here.
I have had my confidence kicked down, my stress level brought to the very edge of insanity trying to get this figure the way I wanted it. I really feel like it has worked out in the end. I think I finally achieved what I want. A figure that looks "cool"'
I'm not going to delude myself into thinking I made the greatest Poser figure ever. I know there are people out there that will hate her. It's ok though. I think I made something that some people will really enjoy. In the end I made something I enjoy and I'm very proud of. I got beyond my frustration of not doing her good enough. I brought her to the point where I did her better than anything I've ever done. I pushed my skills beyond anything I thought I was capable of. For that reason alone I feel like I did good! I hope others find her easy to work with and interesting.
I want to make this clear. I'm a cartoon figure creator, I've been doing it for years. I can't help but to stylize my figures. I like them that way. If anyone wants a super realistic human figure then don't get Michelle. She is not that. What she is is a unique, stylized character and, she is the best I can offer.
She has well over 100 hundred facial morphs. Over 12 Full Body Morphs, Over a Dozen Full Body Controls. When she moves her eyes the flesh around her eyes will move. When she moves her arm up the pectoral muscle will move up. I have really put a lot of thought into her. I wanted to add a bunch of little details that I feel give the figure it's uniqueness. My buddy Eric (Trav) is tweaking the final rig. She is so close to being ready for release. I'm very excited. This is my best work to date.
