Little Mummy

My latest figure for RDNA. Every Halloween I like to do a freebie. I'm pretty happy with this one. He is fun, and I'm sure people will enjoy him. I only spent a couple days modeling and texturing him.  He has a lot of personality. I like that!

The Brute -W.I.P. 2

I spent the weekend tweaking his mesh and making his clothes. I really tried to improve his anatomy. He is now fully rigged. I decided to take him in a barbarian direction. Here is my progress thus far.

Beach Girl Revisited - 3 Months of Reading and Drawing.

This morning I decided to re-do a drawing that I did three months back. I wanted to see how much I have improved over the last few months. I decided to revisit my "Beach Girl Drawing". I do see a major improvement. I still suck but, I'm starting to suck a little less. :) I can't recommend
"Figure Drawing for all its worth" by Andrew Loomis & "Drawing the Head and Figure" by Jack Hamm enough! I have learned so many great techniques from these books. Those techniques along with my obsessive  drawing everyday have been the reason for my improvements.
I don't think I will ever be as good as I would like to be but, the journey of learning is really fun for me. :D

Dooney - Mucha

Here is my attempt to mix the styles of two of my favorite artist. Michael Dooney & Alphonse Mucha! This was a lot of fun to make. I have no idea if I succeeded in my attempt. I will let you judge. It was fun for me all the same. :D

Wanna Be Like Mike....

Here is an attempt of mine to copy the style of Michael Dooney. I'm a big fan of Mike's style.
Here is a link to his blog. Check out the mans work if you get a chance. It is awesome!
 Dooney's Blog
The way he draws the female figure and, features is really appealing to me. I was using one of his drawings as a reference.
Dooney's Poison Ivy on DeviantArt
I did not come close. It is not nearly as smooth or precise as Doony's work. I wasnt trying to replicate his drawing exactly. I was just trying to draw the features somewhat similar. I'm still a newbie and a little imitation is supposed to be good for us newbs so , I figured I would go for it. I don't think what I did is too bad. In fact for me it's pretty good. I did learn a lot from this attempt. It was fun. :)
I sketched it with pencil, scanned it, then colored it in Photoshop.
I have a ways to go but I have been seeing small improvements the more I draw. :D
Thanks for the inspiration Mike. You have been keeping my pencil moving! ;)

TMNT Comics

Been a fan of these since I was a boy. Been collecting them for a while. I did not really try to make collection of these comics. I just liked to read them and look at the cool artwork from different artist. I pulled them out today and realized I have a ton of them.  I have most of the main volumes minus one, TMNT Vol4 #25. There a a few crossovers and side stories I might be missing. Looking at all these gives me a new appreciation for how patient my wife can be with me. :D Doh!
The cool part is my son has been getting into them. He is starting to really appreciate how cool comics can be and, how great the artist who create them can be. It's great to see a kid get into comics especially with all of the modern distractions kids have these days.
Unfortunately, some of these comics I have deemed a little to violent for him to read but, there are a few that he can read now. I told him when he gets older I will give him the whole collection. Sure, I could sell it and probably make a few bucks. I do have some rare ones and signed ones. I just think he would appreciate them as much as I have these past 25 or so years. :D

Scribbles 5

This mornings marker sketch. My marker sucks. I'm ordering one later that might actually be capable of creating a fine line! Doh!

Finished with a touch of Mucha! ;)
