Silly Bird

I'm over here working when I hear a loud bang on the window. I go outside knowing full well that noise was from a bird that thought my window was a fly through. I found this little guy laying in the flower bed by the window. He knocked himself silly. Poor thing was in a state of shock. I have never seen an animal, or human's, pupil dilate in and out so fast. I let him sit on the ground for a few while I inspected his wings and neck, as to insure nothing was broken before handling him. After I determined that the only damage was probably to his brain I picked him up to comfort him and keep him warm. He must have stayed in my hands a good 20 min while I kept an eye on his pupils and how alert he was acting. He eventually started to come around and when he did he jumped up on my hoodie. He sat on my hoodie for another half hour or so before attempting flight. He flew a little and to my surprise flew back to my hand. I did not understand why he did that because at this point he seemed fully alert and had no issues with flight. My guess is it was because he was just a baby and like all babies he wanted some comfort after obtaining a boo boo. I did coax him to fly away again. This time he did and he flew to a nearby tree. Well, there goes an hour of my day but, I do think I was able to help a poor defenseless bird. If anyone knows what type of bird this is please let me know. He still had a lot of his baby feathers and, really sucks at flying. That is why I assume he is a baby.

Bear

I noticed this right outside my front window this morning. He has no fear of humans. I yelled at him to "git", he looked at me like I was nothing and continued to empty my feeder.

5k for Autism Resource Center of Central Massachusetts

It is Autism Awareness Month. My wife Sarah and I are going to run a 5k this month in support of Autism. Any help you can give to support families dealing with autism is appreciated.

According to AutismSpeaks.org:
•Autism now affects 1 in 88 children and 1 in 54 boys
•Autism prevalence figures are growing
•Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the U.S.
•Autism costs a family $60,000 a year on average
•Autism receives less than 5% of the research funding of many less prevalent childhood diseases
•Boys are nearly five times more likely than girls to have autism
•There is no medical detection or cure for autism

Your support allows organizations such as the Autism Resource Center of Central Massachusetts to offer programs and supports to over 2,600 families with children affected with autism spectrum disorders in the Central Massachusetts community.

Please chip in and support this great cause. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Thanks you all for the support!

The Dark Knight Scribble

My son was so happy that I drew him a picture of the Dark Knight last week. I scribbled another one for him but, this time I really took my time. I wanted to do something cool for him this time. I know I could draw the worst thing and, he would still love it.

Scribbles 19 - The Dark Knight

Here is a quick Batman scribble I did for my son Devin. The itouch camera blurred it a little. Batman is fun to draw and, my son likes him. It's a win, win!
     Thanks for looking!
